CUSICK MORGAN MOTORSPORTS EARNS FIRST-EVER PODIUM AT MILWAUKEE MILE

Cusick Morgan Motorsports traveled to the famed Milwaukee Mile for the final oval race of the 2026 INDY NXT by Firestone championship, with both drivers entering the weekend with confidence following the team’s recent test at the historic circuit. The one-mile oval in West Allis, Wisconsin, is one of the oldest operating motor racing facilities in the world and presented the field with a unique challenge as tire degradation played a key role throughout the weekend.

Juan Manuel Correa qualified fifth for Sunday’s race, while Nicolas Stati earned his best qualifying result of the 2026 season with a 12th-place effort. Following post-qualifying penalties, both drivers moved forward one position, putting Correa fourth and Stati 11th on the starting grid.

With tire management expected to be a major factor around the Milwaukee Mile, Correa took a measured approach from the opening laps, carefully managing his tires while maintaining his position near the front of the field. As a series of cautions reshaped the race, Correa continued to fight forward, eventually moving into second place, earning Cusick Morgan Motorsports’ first-ever podium and marking a historic milestone for the team in its INDY NXT campaign.

“This is a huge moment for everyone at Cusick Morgan Motorsports,” expressed Juan Manuel Correa. “The whole team has put in so much work to get here, and to finally put it all together and get our first podium is incredibly special. I’m really proud of everyone.”

Stati showed strong pace in practice before earning his best qualifying result of the season. Starting 11th after the post-qualifying adjustments, he continued to fight hard throughout the race and brought the car home in 15th.

For Cusick Morgan Motorsports co-owners Don Cusick and Billy Morgan, the team’s first podium represents a major milestone and a reflection of the work put in by the entire organization throughout the season.

“This podium means a lot to everyone at Cusick Morgan Motorsports,” added Morgan. “We’ve continued to push forward all season and seeing that hard work come together at a place as historic as the Milwaukee Mile is incredibly rewarding. JM drove a fantastic race, Nicolas showed great pace throughout the weekend, and the entire CMM crew executed when it mattered. This is a milestone we’ll always remember, and hopefully the first of many.”

With its first podium secured, Cusick Morgan Motorsports leaves Milwaukee with renewed momentum as the team heads to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca for the 2026 INDY NXT by Firestone season finale. The doubleheader weekend will feature two races at the iconic 2.238-mile, 11-turn road course in Monterey, California, giving both Correa and Stati one final opportunity to close out the season on a strong note.
