The latest round of the 2026 INDY NXT by Firestone championship brought Cusick Morgan Motorsports to the iconic Road America circuit, where the team showcased determination, consistency, and strong race pace throughout a competitive doubleheader weekend.
Qualifying for Race One saw Juan Manuel Correa secure an eighth-place starting position while teammate Nicolas Stati lined up 17th on the grid. Correa delivered a consistent and measured drive throughout the race, maintaining his position among the front-running group to finish seventh. Stati’s race took an early turn when a puncture forced him to the rear of the field. Despite the setback, a series of well-timed cautions allowed him to remain on the lead lap, and he capitalized on the opportunity with a recovery drive to finish 17th.
For Race Two, Correa qualified ninth while Stati started from 21st. Correa faced adversity early in the race after contact shuffled him toward the back of the field. Refusing to give up, he mounted a determined charge through the field and worked his way back to seventh by the time the checkered flag flew. Stati also produced one of his strongest performances of the season, advancing through the field to finish 12th after starting 21st.
“I thought both drivers showed a lot of determination this weekend,” expressed Billy Morgan. “JM put together two very solid races and maximized the opportunities we had, while Nicolas never stopped fighting after the puncture in Race One and followed it up with an impressive drive through the field in Race Two. We still have areas where we want to improve, but there were a lot of positives to take away from Road America and plenty to build on moving forward.”
Cusick Morgan Motorsports will now turn its attention to the upcoming doubleheader weekend at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course over the Fourth of July holiday. The team looks to build on the progress shown at Road America as it continues to develop momentum heading into the second half of the 2026 INDY NXT by Firestone championship season.
