Cusick Morgan Motorsports traveled to Portland International Raceway for the latest round of the 2026 INDY NXT by Firestone championship, with both drivers looking to build momentum as the season enters its final stretch. The 1.964-mile, 12-turn road course in Portland, Oregon, provided another technical challenge for the INDY NXT field as the team continued its push toward the end of the season.
After a productive two practice sessions, one on Friday afternoon and the other on Saturday morning, Juan Manuel Correa qualified tenth for Sunday’s race, while Nicolas Stati lined up 21st on the starting grid. From the opening laps, Correa focused on a clean and consistent race, putting himself in position to advance through the field.
Correa delivered a strong drive, navigating the opening stages without incident before steadily moving forward. Maintaining competitive pace throughout the race, the Cusick Morgan Motorsports driver gained four positions to cross the finish line sixth, earning the team another top-ten result, and one of Correa’s best results of the season, rebounding from a disappointing Nashville Superspeedway event a few weeks ago.
Starting from 21st, Stati made progress through the field and reached as high as 16th before debris became lodged underneath his car, requiring an unscheduled pit stop to safely remove it. The stop dropped him to the rear of the field, but Stati continued to fight through the remainder of the race to finish 23rd.
With another top-ten finish secured, Cusick Morgan Motorsports leaves Portland with continued momentum as the team prepares for the final oval race of the 2026 INDY NXT by Firestone championship.
The team will now turn its attention to the Milwaukee Mile, where Cusick Morgan Motorsports will return to oval competition for the final time this season as it looks to close out the championship on a strong note.
