CUSICK MORGAN MOTORSPORTS WELCOME YUVEN SUNDARAMOORTHY AS RESERVE DRIVER

Cusick Morgan Motorsports is proud to announce that Yuven Sundaramoorthy will join the team as their official reserve driver. The announcement follows Sundaramoorthy’s appearance with the team at World Wide Technology Raceway (WWTR), where he stepped in for Nicolas Stati to pilot the #15 Cusick Morgan Motorsports entry. Stati, who had a prior commitment during the St. Louis race weekend, will return to competition at Road America and for the remainder of the 2026 INDY NXT by Firestone season.

Sundaramoorthy made an immediate impression during Round Eight at WWTR, qualifying ninth and running as high as seventh despite not having competed in INDY NXT competition for 20 months. While an on-track incident ultimately forced the 23-year-old to retire from the race, his performance throughout the weekend showcased both his speed and adaptability. From the moment he returned to the cockpit, Sundaramoorthy demonstrated pace comparable to the front-runners and quickly settled back into the highly competitive INDY NXT field.

Following that promising performance, Cusick Morgan Motorsports has elected to continue and further develop their relationship with Sundaramoorthy by naming him the team’s reserve driver. The University of Wisconsin graduate not only remains focused on returning to full-time INDY NXT competition, but he also aims to become the first full-time INDYCAR driver from Wisconsin as well as the first driver of Indian-decent to do so.

“WWTR weekend wouldn’t be possible without Cusick Morgan Motorsports and our amazing partners, Visit Milwaukee,” expressed Sundaramoorthy. “Continuing this relationship with Cusick Morgan Motorsports means a great deal to me.”

He added, “They were incredibly welcoming and supportive in helping me get up to speed and perform at my best in St. Louis. They gave me a great car, and I am proud of what we accomplished throughout the weekend. I’m excited to continue working with the team and grateful for their belief in me moving forward.”

The team was equally impressed by Sundaramoorthy’s professionalism, preparation, and performance throughout the weekend.

“Don and I, as well as our entire team, are excited to have Yuven stick with us as a reserve driver for the remainder of the 2026 INDY NXT by Firestone season,” commented Cusick Morgan Motorsports Team Co-Owner Billy Morgan. “We want to keep him sharp in case another opportunity presents itself, as we’ll have him provide valuable input for the team as a whole.”

As a reserve driver for Cusick Morgan Motorsports, Sundaramoorthy will have continued access to the resources, personnel, and opportunities needed to further his professional development while remaining closely involved with the team’s INDY NXT program.
